What is EarthShare of Georgia? Founded in 1993 as the Environmental Fund for Georgia by several environmental groups to expand choice in workplace giving programs, Earth Share of Georgia is a non-profit federation focused on raising funds and awareness among employees with diverse backgrounds throughout the state, to help support leading environmental organizations. In 2001, the Environmental Fund for Georgia officially affiliated with EarthShare National to become part of a network representing nearly 500 environmental groups working locally, nationally and internationally under the EarthShare brand.
As an independent 501 c 3 non-profit organization, EarthShare of Georgia has seen steady growth in campaigns from 8 in 1993 to more than 70 in 2011, representing nearly 400,000 employees in the public and private sector. Since 1995, EarthShare of Georgia has raised more than $5 million dollars for the environment.
Our Mission: EarthShare of Georgia is a nonprofit that raises funds through employee giving for more than 60 environmental member organizations dedicated to conserving and protecting our air, land and water.
Our Goal: EarthShare of Georgia’s goal is to provide critical funds to help support our non-profit environmental member organizations in a timely and efficient manner that honors the giving choices our donors make throughout the year.
EarthShare of Georgia uses its unique position in the community to strengthen partnerships between environmental non-profits and businesses. In addition to raising critical funds for our member groups, EarthShare of Georgia helps connect employees with environmental volunteer and learning opportunities throughout the year.
